Admission to the Fair is $8.00 for adults, and I imagine that you can see Grand Funk for $8.00. They must have a huge budget for entertainment. I listened to a radio interview with our favorite boys yesterday on the Bob & Tom radio show. Don Brewer was talking, and he pronounced Mel's name as "Shocker" very distinctly and very clear. Now, I know there's no way Don would mispronounce it! ; ) Donna ------------------------------ From: James Lichtenberg Date: Sat, 26 Apr 1997 01:39:57 -0700 Subject: Beacon Guys, Just got back from the Beacon. It was good to meet all you Funkheads at the Westside. The Funkengruven shirts were very nice as were the ones sold at the show. Grand Funk played almost the exact same set as they did in Detroit except tonight, they did not play "Are you Ready" and they snuck in "Bad Time" in between "To Get Back In" and "Closer To Home." Great show overall. Hope this alleviates some consternation! Later. Going through my old Grand Funk albums, I happened upon records from another Michigan band, the MC5. Seems to me I heard that the singer Rob Tyner(?) had dies, and Fred "Sonic" Smith was in jail for smuugling drugs into Florida or something. This really has nothing to do with Grand Funk except that the MC5 is from the same area. If anyone knows anything about the MC5, could they e-mail me? So, the guys played Bad Time on Friday. Good! A great bubblegum tune and one of my favourite GFR songs. . . GRAND FUNK - COME TO EDMONTON!!!!!!! Hey, it never hurts to ask . . .
