I thought his choice of _All_The_Girls_... was a little odd at first, but now, I'm fairly sure he's right on the mark! I think I've had six or seven requests over the last six months for the lyrics to _Some_Kind_Of_Wonderful_ -- many of them from non-USA folks. I guess this is still a real popular album in the US and abroad. I still haven't figured out why these people can't just get the lyrics off of my lyric pages -- does anybody else have prob- lems accessing my Web pages? Oh, and BTW, hi Jeff -- welcome to the list. You're my fourth subscriber! Do you think there might be a way to get some of those folks chatting on your Web page to subscribe here and strike up some conversations here too? Everyone else -- sign the petition! Take care and may you al- ways grok in fullness ... Bill-- ...who says "Don't *believe* in miracles -- *rely* on them." Boy these Grand Funk types sure are a slow moving bunch! :) I'll drop the guys a line about the mail list in case they haven't made it to your site in the last day or so. Parrette" Date: Tue, 4 Feb 1997 07:58:29 -0500 (EST) Subject: And we keep on growing ... Hi all, Well, it's Tuesday morning and there are six of us now! The list keeps growing. I wonder what Tuesday Afternoon will bring us? Oooops ... that's a different band, isn't it? ;-) Well, how 'bout I solicit a little help here. If you've been to my Web pages (which you probably have if you're getting this message :-) ), you know that I'm trying to transcribe all of the lyrics from all of the Grand Funk albums. I'm in the middle of Shinin' On right now (which is another story in and of itself :-( ), but I have a question about some of the other lyrics that I have already "done." I'm fairly confident with my work on Inside Looking Out but there's one phrase that I'm just not sure about. Near the begin- ning of the song, Mark sings something about "... God's green Earth." Now, what I've got transcribed is "For what it's worth on God's green Earth," but I'm just not confident about it -- it really was just a guess. Does anybody else want to take a "bet- ter" guess or perhaps someone "knows" what the actual lyrics are. An interesting side note: I had someone contact me about some sheet music. I had a little bit, so I copied it and sent it to him. In return, he copied the entire song book that he had for the "red album," and Inside Looking Out was nowhere to be found. They left it completely out! I guess the subject matter was a little ahead of its time! Another lyric question: Does anybody know what Mark, the boys, and the choir are screaming for the chorus on Survival's I Want Freedom? I must have listened to it a hundred times and just couldn't make heads or tails of it. Any guesses? Again folks, tell your friends and Funk acquaintances about the Grand Funk Railroad mailing list. Lets get some chat going about the best band in the land.. And maybe, we can find a way to get Capitol to loosen up a little bit and David Fishof to open up a bit. In any event, take care, and, as always, may you grok in fullness ... Bill-- ...who thinks that life is a yo-yo and mankind ties knots in the string. Then it hit me -- Jeff probably wasn't talking about *me* at all and I immediately *knew* what the message would be about. I'm the one who posted the thing about the "OFFICIAL" GFR fan mail. Let me tell you how this came about. Back in December when the David Fishof group took over the management job for GFR David posted a couple of messages stating this out on I believe Jeff's and Donna's websites. And he asked for comments from fans. So I replied to him. One of things he asked about was a GFR fan club. I told him that that would go over really well. He also mentioned an "offical" GFR website which they're probably working on now. I would prefer that so we all have one common place to go to. That's not to forget about any of the work you guys have done! You all have done a GREAT JOB! So anyway, I never heard anything back from Fishof until the other day. I received this email from QBERT50@aol.com, the subject was "GFR Fan Mail" and this is all it said: "Any GFR fan mail should now be sent to QBERT50@AOL.Com. Thank you." So I replied back and asked if this was official or what and they replied back and said yes this is official, it used to be DFishof or something like that. Then I asked their permission to go post it on your sites (Jeff's and Donna's) and they said "Please Do!". So I did. I'm going by the honor system here and am assuming it's legitimate? Why they haven't posted anything out there, I don't know? Anyway, I wrote something to Mark, Don, and Mel the other day. Who knows if they'll ever read it or if they'll ever reply.
