I originally saw Grand Funk Railroad in January 1973 in Nashville, TN with R.E.O. Speedwagon opening up for them at the old Nashville Municipal Auditorium. I saw them again this summer at the Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD at the Colt Fest. Chuck Negron, previously of the Three Dog Night, was the act just before GFR. I was in Rock & Roll Heaven, I thought during the show, but I got to meet the guys, Mark, Don, Mel, and Howard, after the show. I knew then that I had died and gone to Heaven! I can thank Richard Shockley (GFRShock@aol.com) for meeting me online (AOL) and getting me to finally break down and go to a concert that wasn't exactly "closer to home," but I will never regret it now! GRAND FUNK RAILROAD FOREVER!
