I have seen drumsets at all prices out of maple and birch wood. Which wood is better for drums and why/ I am about to drop some major coin on a set here in January, and being 50 years old...this will be my last drumset. I will need it to last me at least 30 years (LOL)...I would (ROFLMAO), but it would be one of those, "I've fallen and I can't get up, type deals".!!!! And in your expert opinion what American made drumset is best for the money. I've always played Pearl..w/ Zildjen Cymbal's...but things have changed so much, and every company is going to tell you theirs is the best.. I Want the truth in drums. I am not rich, but I plan on spending $2K on a set. So again I need some input from those who know. I have not ask anybody else except the GFR fans...I saw them this summer in OKC....and baby....what a drum solo did Diesel Don Brewer, lay out o the skins,
He had the crowd reeling and rolling.....I soon found out that Diesel Don has been playing the same solo at all the shows this year....which is a great thing because everybody got to see what I saw, and I know all drummers are impressed to the hilt. I have been playing since 1969, self taught, and been told I'm good. {I give it a 10, Dick, It's got a beat, and I can dance to it !!}............So help a brother Funkster out, and give me some input on the two woods I have heard most about. Is there more wood that is better? Thank you so much for your time and expertise of input of your wisdom upon the knowledge of percussion, it is well appreciated
