Holly COW Bill, I forgot I was
RCinSinCity@aol.com untill I looked in the archives, I wonder when I changed to
RickDC@aol.com Rick

MAYBE, I Should tell the story. When I got on the internet, almost the first thing I did was to start doing GFR serches. I can across very little at that time, someless less then one page of lonks, in fact I think it may of been like 3 links on one search. I have to say all the raodkillers did a great job getting sites up, posting allover the ionternet and doing a good job talking up GFR (Along w/ the reunion), to there point where you can hit thousaands of links now when you search GFR.
Anyway; Some how I got in contact with Funkola, who had some cool GFR stuff on Video (GFR 74, A Mark CCM concert and GFR promos and Vids such as the WAAB Documentary ISLO at Cinn POP. GFR on Playboy After Dark, GFR from Mondo Daytona, etc.,) Anyway I traded with Funkola and when he sent me back the videos he Wrote Rick Funk Cappetto on the package and that nickname stuck for a long time. But do to David Tedds thanking RckDC in the first 4 GFR re masters I lost the Funk and everyone called me RickDC.
I think it was Funkola who told Mike Butler (a fellow roadkiller who live in Vegas as I did at that time) at GFR's Bosnia Show in Detroit Mike got in contact with me. I had NO PLAN on joining roadkill, such groups did not seen like anything I would be interested in, at all. But, Mike talked me into it. Instead of using my
RickDC@aol.com name which has been my main e-mail since 1987, I made a second name, RCinSInCity on AOL (I have long since dumped that screen name, well I don't live in Vegas anymore). My First post, on roadkill, was June 1st 1997.
Well, needless to say the list was very fun during the reunion, I must of posted over 1000 times (probably could turn them into a demented book) filled with typos and misspellings. I made good friends on List, Bill (roomy), Mike Butler, Mickey M, RAY-ROD, Brother Kelly, LOU, the Gary's, the 3 TOM's the Al's, CT Chris, Nico, JOHN W, Donna and Allan, Jimmy C, Dick D, ROSS, RicK-K. and so many others. Who would of thought I would get to meet the band (on multiple occasions) and there family's, Who would of thought I would get my story in sunny's book Who would of thought I would meet 100's of other roadkillers who came to Vegas, over the years, from allover the world. Who would of though we would have all of GFR's albums out on CD? remember how long we had to wait (yes I know there were out in japan, I had all of those) I mean remastered US copy's. We even Had Don's 50 TH Birthday party in Vegas, in which over 100 roadkillers came, Including Bill. What a Blast.
I prefer to remember those fun times instead of all the flame wars that started after the break up at the end of 98. I must admit and confess, I partook way to much in the flame wars, and I regret it (although I Have to admit it was somewhat fun). I should of defended without attacking. Well I hope I have learned from it. after a time I got sick of the arguing and left roadkill, back around 2000. I joined cyberfunk and got pissed at the moderator, way too tight control, and left that club in 2002. I was in some private groups too, and leftthose for personal reasons. This is my first time back on a GFR club in over 4 years.
Back in the day I would of argued with you that I was the number 1 funk fan, you may have been equal with me, for number 1, but no one surpassed me for fanaticism. LOL Well, I can't say that anymore, GFR, and all related groups will always be important to me, but I am much more balanced now, musically and in All ways.
I like this new format, I am not into mailing lists anymore, I prefer these, where we can come and go at will. Also I love that Bill kept track of all the roadkill logs, that has to be a sociologist's dream.
Well everyone take care and come on GFR how about an EP of the new songs, a DVD concert, somethig?

throw us a bone.
